Courtney and Matthew were married on Sanibel Island on the beach just in front of Casa Ybel Resort. Casa Ybel is one of the prime venues to get married at on Sanibel Island. Others include South Seas Island Resort and the Tween Waters Inn. Casa Ybel Resort is an award-winning destination resort that spans 23 acres of lush, manicured lawns and pristine beach overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Designed to provide a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the Sanibel Island beach resort embodies the casual elegance of our relaxed island setting. The Tween Waters Inn Historic District is a national historic district located at Captiva, Florida in Lee County. It was established by F. Bowman and Grace B. Price in 1931 and expanded over the following 30 years. South Seas Island Resort is a 330-acre resort located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico in the community of Captiva on Captiva Island, in Lee County, Florida. The original resort, South Seas Plantation, was opened in 1946 as a fishing resort by Clarence Chadwick, following a dry hurricane (salt-water storm surge kills the plants) which ended commercial farming on the island. Chadwick owned much of Captiva and portions of nearby Sanibel, making his fortune inventing the Checkprinter in the 1920s. His heirs sold the property to Mariner Properties in 1966, which began the modern era of the resort. The original Plantation house, suffering from termites and wood rot, was demolished in the 1990s. Now South Seas Resort is home to some of the most prestigious weddings in the Sanibel Island and Captiva Island area almost every weekend.
